PLANT MAINTENANCE APPLICATIONS
Servomotors are key components in CNC machines, robots, and other types of automated equipment in your
plant. Too often good servomotors are sent out for repair, and too often bad servomotors are put back
into spare stock. Why? Because no testing program exists.
You can reduce your repair costs and downtime by using in-plant testing at these two critical points
in your maintenance operation:
- Sending out for repair - Only send out motors with problems!
- Putting motors back into spare stock - Make sure they are ready to run!
When servomotors stop running, you have to get them running again as quickly as possible. You have to isolate
whether you have a motor problem, drive problem, control problem, cable problem or other problem. The problem
is often isolated using parts substitution. However, this method can require a lot of time as motors are removed
and re-installed, and you are often left with parts of unknown quality when the machine is back up and running.
The TI-5000EXR and TI-3000R products can give your maintenance department much of the same capability that many of the
top servomotor repair shops have been using for several years. These products give you the following capability:
- Test feedback devices with the TI-5000EX before removing the motor from the machine.
- Test feedback devices and verify alignment with the TI-5000EX before putting motor into spare stock.
- Test run the servomotors with the TI-3000 before putting them into spare stock.
The Model TI-5000EXR gives you the capability to test and align servomotor feedback
devices including incremental encoders, serial encoders, Hall effect pickups, and resolvers.
The Model TI-3000R lets you test run a wide variety of servomotors on a single drive system. It
is compatible with most of the same feedback devices that can be tested with the TI-5000EX.
